The Patience of a True King: A Generation for Benevolence to Prevail

Confucius said: “Even if a true king arose, it would take a generation for benevolence to prevail.”

If a truly royal ruler were to arise, it would still require a generation, and then virtue would prevail.

如有王者,必世而后仁。
