The Root of Governance: “When Superiors Cherish Propriety, the People are Easily Led”

Confucius said: “When those above cherish ritual, the people are easy to direct.”

When rulers love to observe the rules of propriety, the people respond readily to the calls on them for service.

上好礼,则民易使也。
