The Carriage Ritual: Standing Straight, Holding the Cord, and the Silence Within

Mounting the carriage, he stood straight holding the cord. Inside, he did not look back, speak hastily, or point.

When he was about to mount his carriage, he would stand straight, holding the cord. When he was in the carriage, he did not turn his head quite round, he did not talk hastily, he did not point with his hands.

升车,必正立执绥。车中,不内顾,不疾言,不亲指。
