Courage and Benevolence: “The Benevolent Are Surely Brave, But the Brave May Not Be Benevolent”

Confucius said: “A benevolent person is surely courageous, but a courageous person may not be benevolent.”

Men of principle are sure to be bold, but those who are bold may not always be men of principle.

仁者,必有勇。勇者,不必有仁。
