The Source of Good Words: “The Virtuous Surely Speak Well, But Good Speakers May Not Be Virtuous”

Confucius said: “A virtuous person will surely speak well, but a good speaker may not be virtuous.”

The virtuous will be sure to speak correctly, but those whose speech is good may not always be virtuous.

有德者,必有言。有言者,不必有德。
