The Triad of the Beneficial Friend: Confucius on the Upright, the Sincere, and the Well-Informed

Confucius said: “Friendship with the upright, the sincere, and the well-informed is beneficial.”

Friendship with the upright; friendship with the sincere; and friendship with the man of much observation – these are advantageous.

友直,友谅,友多闻,益矣。
