The Three Pillars of Confucian Discourse: The Odes, The History, and The Rites

The Compilers recorded that Confucius most often spoke about the Book of Songs, the Book of History, and the Rules of Propriety.

The Master’s frequent themes of discourse were: the Odes, the History, and the maintenance of the Rules of Propriety. On all these he frequently discoursed.

子所雅言,诗、书、执礼,皆雅言也。
