The Harmony of Differences: “The Superior Man is Harmonious but Not Uniform”

Confucius said: “The superior man is harmonious but not uniform; the mean man is uniform but not harmonious.”

The superior man is affable, but not adulatory; the mean man is adulatory, but not affable.

君子和而不同,小人同而不和。
