Zi Lu on the Paradox of Learning: The Anxiety of Unpracticed Knowledge

It is said of Zi Lu: When he heard a teaching, if he had not yet practiced it, he feared to hear another.

When Zi Lu heard anything, if he had not yet succeeded in carrying it into practice, he was only afraid lest he should hear something else.

子路有闻,未之能行,唯恐有闻。
